Perfect for those who want a chill Halloween!!
That won’t include a next day hangover!!
I put a spell on you and now your mine
This Halloween was celebrated very differently. Usually, I get all dressed up with my best friend Nicole Thompson and we head out, with an assortment of friends by 11pm. Our preferred places to celebrate have always been Wrigley vile or Wicker Park. They both have an assortment of fabulous clubs and restaurants, and make for a great night out. These nights always include strong sugary drinks, and Dimos pizza (a must when in Chicago). Then I stumble in the door around 2am, somehow manage to shower, drink water, and fall asleep.
However this year was not like that at all! I have been dying of the plague for the last week and a half (aka common cold), and finally managed to start recovering last Wednesday. I didn’t want to revert back to my near death experience, so I decided to play it safe, and stay in. I did not miss out anything! This was by far one of the most incredible Halloween celebrations ever! It will unquestionably become a Halloween tradition!!!
I celebrated Halloween last Saturday, and it was an all day event!!! Let me just start by saying that my little cousin Megan stayed with us to celebrate. She is in high school so the day included NO alcohol, which I didn’t mind at all. First, we went to the cutest pumpkin patch you have ever seen! It included white, Cinderella, blue, and traditional pumpkins!! It also had Ella, the most snugly kitten you have ever met!!! Not only did I cuddle with Ella, but since Halloween was literally in 3 days our pumpkins were a steal!!! I purchased 3 pumpkins for six dollars!!!
Next, we went home and made a list of junk food, and paints we needed to put our evening together!!! The list consisted of: 2 frozen pizzas, 2 ready to make cookie packages, lots of paint, and bread for grilled cheese. Noel (my boo thang) went to target to grab the must have items, came home, and the evening began!!!
We watched the must have Halloween movie, Hocus Pocus while eating pizza, cookies, and painting our pumpkins. It was literally one of the most flawless evenings!! Then we watched the ever so creepy Coralline, another movie that’s ideal for Halloween. After all of the movies and food had been consumed, we decided to go for a drive.
We spent about an hour and a half driving up and down the city, gazing at the lights and costumes. It was breathtaking!! We drove through Wicker Park, Logan Square, and Humboldt Park. Finally we came home, ripped off our jackets, collapsed into bed, and fell fast asleep. I woke up in the morning, with no hangover!!! I was happy as a clam!!! I had a dangerously enjoyable, and seriously entertaining night!! Even though I do plan to go out on Halloween next year, I will definitely incorporate a day to NOT drink, paint pumpkins, and watch my favorite spooky movies!!! I highly suggest you do the same!!!!
